personal projects
i've worked on a few personal projects over the years in my spare time. here are some of my favourites:
MTAPI
MTAPI is an API that allows developers to utilise basic (and some advanced) functions for use within their own projects. Predominantly built for those who have lower grade web hosting solutions (such as shared hosting) and may not have access to system resources necessary to perform these functions within their own codebase.
This API was born out of my own frustration when looking to perform simple operations within my own and customer's evironments which ultimately required installation of various packages. Some providers wouldn't allow the installation of additional packages, and where they could be installed those packages offered a lot more than was necessary. A common use was to generate web-safe images for blogs/news articles where the user wasn't equipped to make those modifications before uploading. Another common use was for user generated content (like profile photographs).
robot banana
for years robot banana has been a hobby of mine, that has grown from a concept for a single project into a larger offering to many types of business. robot banana jukebox is the first offering from this small company which, as the name suggests, is a jukebox that can be installed in pubs, clubs and coffee shops among other places. the jukebox offers a continuous stream of music selected from the venues own collection with the ability for all visitors to select from the available music via their own mobile devices. visitor tracking is the important comodity that this system offers above all other products and even allows a venue to see requested songs by their visitors in other venues to help them expand their own music selection. additional offerings have evolved from this initial concept to include digital signage (for offers and posters), digital music quiz (built into the web-app asking questions on the current music playing), and in development is the inclusion of automatic lighting controls.
the website for robot banana is currently in development, but you can get in contact with me for more information via the contact methods below
